Bill Gates tops it again! Yes, he is the richest according to the
34th Annual list of Richest Americans
released by Forbes 400. The threshold for admission into the list this time was higher than ever. With a staggering $150 million up from last year, the minimum bar this year was at $1.7 billion. Something, which 145 U.S. billionaires failed to crack. However, the list did witness 25 new names.

While Bill Gates was at number one, Warren Buffett of Berkshire
Hathaway and Larry Ellison of Oracle followed next. Everyone’s
favourite, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook was not far behind, shining
brightly at number seven. Apart from the Facebook CEO, many of the
newcomers are among the youngest. Evan Spiegel of Snapchat, is one of
them too.
The crown of the richest women according to Forbes was capped by Alice
Walton and Christy Walton both from Wal-Mart, standing at number twelve
and fourteen respectively. Not far behind them, Jacqueline Mars from
Candy stood at number eighteen as the third richest woman.
